These minutes from the First Grand Council meeting, held in Albion, Michigan, in 1903, include reports from the grand treasurer, Grand President and editor of The Lyre. Of particular note are the precarious financial situation of The Lyre, plans for voting at the 1903 Inter-Sorority Conference, the establishment of alumnae chapters and the decision to revoke the charter of Eta (Bucknell University) chapter due to inactivity.

Technically this was the 9th Convention, but at this point in our history Alpha Chi Omega had not yet established a naming convention for events, therefore the labels differ. This program includes a chapter roll, a list of the Grand Council, a full program of events, banquet menu, banquet toast list, musicale program and the lyrics to several Alpha Chi songs.

Founder Bertha Deniston Cunningham compiled 12 scrapbooks that are prat of Alpha Chi Omega's archives collection. This scrapbook includes notes and clippings about many early Alpha Chi Omega leaders, news of the growing Fraternity, reflections on MacDowell and items related to the 1935 Golden Jubilee.

Gladys Drach Power Badge with Hera Head Guard, 1915

This 2/3-inch badge belonged to National President Gladys Drach Power (Nu, University of Colorado Boulder). The badge is 10-karat gold and features 11 diamonds and 11 pearls set in an alternating pattern. The badge also features a Hera head guard, worn by members of the National Council, that Powers would have been given in 1937 when she joined the National Council as Fraternity treasurer.

James Howe, former dean of the DePauw University School of Music and an instrumental figure in the founding of Alpha Chi Omega, writes to Fraternity President Ethel Mead Van Auken (Lambda, Syracuse University) with an update on his professional work, which Alpha Chi Omega helps to subsidize through an endowment. Howe also expresses wonder at the growth of Alpha Chi Omega, particularly the importance of Beta (Albion College) chapter, for whose installation he provided the funds.
